Fall 2009 Tryouts Information
Tryouts are here!!! Tryouts for the ENGLISH portion of the equestrian team will be this Friday, September 18 from 5-8pm at Serenity Ridge Farm. Before you guys can tryout there are several things I need you to do.
First you must RSVP at equestrian@wsu.edu to let me know that you are coming to tryouts, if you have a car or need a ride, and if you would be trying out to jump. Just because you are interested in jumping does not guarantee you will be able to. It based off of your rider placement form and your performance with your flat work. If you don't RSVP to me and you show up for tryouts you will not be able to tryout because this allows us to know how many horses we need.
After RSVPing to me you will need to go to the UREC website for the sportclub manger and register. Here is the website http://sportclubmanager.wsu.edu/. You will need to login and after doing so click join a team on the side. It will prompt you to fill out forms about where you live and emergency contact and a risk and release form. After all of that you can join a club and you want to join the equestrian club. Feel free to e-mail me if you are having any problems, but this MUST be completed before you are able to ride a horse and tryout.
E-mail me for a copy of the rider placement form that needs to be printed out and filled out and brought with you to tryouts. This is what allows us to know what level you can ride at based on IHSA's standards. After filling out the all the necessary forms you are ready to ride.
For tryouts you must bring a helmet and you're riding boots. Boots must be appropriate and have a heel. Actual riding pants are preferred but if you don't have any here jeans are acceptable. We will be meeting in the parking lot next to the Old Bookie across from Wilmer- Davis at 4:45pm. I have a jeep so I can help transport people but anyone else who has a car and can drive people too would be greatly appreciated.
